It's that time of year again with the snow just a memory and the sun shining higher in the sky. In tradition with last summer’s successful first season with the newest adventure offered by White Mountain Exploration, the “Ultimate Adventure Canopy Tour” is pleased to announce the season opening date of Saturday, May 16^th was a huge success with course participants made up of many families and Girl Scout groups including a sell out weekend for the Yurt rentals.   The “Ultimate Adventure Canopy Tour” has delighted and challenged folks from all over North America near and far.  

 

Alpine Towers, who is known for building top-of-the-line challenge course attractions worldwide, developed the new Tenney challenge course location for White Mountain Exploration which contains over 5,000 feet of aerial excitement from beginning to end! The canopy tour starts with a scenic ride up Tenney Mountain Ski Area, and then participants descend the spectacular Tenney Mountain Gorge past cascades and waterfalls via a series of Zip-Lines, Burma Bridges, A Tarzan Swing, a TacoNet, Cargo Nets, Z-Bridges, Rappels, Cables and Treetop Walkways back to the Base Camp Lodge.  All elements of the course are “Challenge by Choice” and can be hiked around if you choose to do so. The canopy tour is a great way to build confidence, create trust, team building skills and comradery with a group of adventurous children and adults alike, but what a great way to get your adrenaline fix for the day too!

The Adventure Course is staffed with professional, well-trained guides which are the best around. Keeping your safety in mind, they will encourage the timid and praise the successes, making your tour more enjoyable and letting you know the comforts of being led by some of the best in the business.

 

In addition to the Adventure Gorge, ala carte day adventure programs for almost all ages with rock climbing, kayaking, mountain biking and hiking on the weekends are offered. These can now be combined with adventure overnights in our new luxury yurts.

According to our visitors, the best way to round out a full day of zipping, rock climbing, mountain biking or kayaking is White Mountain Exploration’s mountainside accommodations--the brand-new yurts nestled in a fir grove adjacent to the Tenney Mountain Gorge with breathtaking views of the valley.  The yurts sleep up to 6 people each and are outfitted with queen sized beds, bunk beds and linens, camp-style kitchenette, water, electricity, house-keeping, an out door fireplace, a BBQ grill, and optional food service — everything you need for “luxury” camping..  The yurts are part of the overnight family adventure programs and are also available for general overnight rentals.

Meanwhile back at the Base Camp lodge, “The Backcountry Pub” awaits participants, as well as the public, offering a place to relax, reflect and enjoy a great luncheon menu along with your favorite beverages which is open during normal days of operation.

 

The Canopy Tour is open five days a week – Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday until Columbus Day weekend.  Tours leave the Base Camp Lodge every hour and run from 9 am-4 pm. Reservations are required. School and Team groups will be accommodated Tuesdays and Wednesdays as well, if need be. The Gorge is happy to offer discounted group rates, along with special consideration for non-profit organizations, as well as, meal packages if you would like for your group.
